Sullivan: Principles of Design

The planet is picked is Saturn, which is basically is giant ball of gas surrounded by a ring of rocks. I want people to go there to fly around and see the planet in the comfort of a luxury ship. I will be  using warm, inviting colors like peach and forrest green. I will probably use Futura for my font. I want my poster to look like a 1950's advertisement with Fifth Element style clothing. 

The designer I identified the most with in the movie,  Helvetica , was Stefen Sagmeister. Stefen is a New York based graphic designer who breaks boundaries of design. Stylistically I would love to be more like him. He mainly uses handwritten type in his pieces and I really like that idea, it's kind of like adding a bit of yourself in the design. Most of his designs are wacky and some will make you a bit uncomfortable. He has one design where he carved the information of the poster onto his skin, and another he made when he launched his business, Sagmeister Inc., where he's just nude with the information under him. He did that again when he launched Sagmeister and Walsh Inc a few years later. He uses a good balance of photography and vector images, as well as typography. This is something i would like to do with my own work. I like his use of photography in all of his designs.
